the biggest loser

I had the honor of being a client of the Biggest Loser Resort in Ivins, Utah thriteen weeks of my life and then the thrill of being a trainer for The Biggest Loser Resort Malibu for nine months.  My experience as a student and teacher there has shaped who I am am as a person in a profound way and it filters into all of my classes and exchanges.

Heather’s journey as a former guest of the Resort after a lifetime struggle with her weight has given her a unique appreciation of fitness, transformation and self-acceptance. After maintaining a 95 pound weight loss over the last three years, Heather credits much of her success to the nutrition, education, life skills and focus on movement that she learned during her 13 weeks as a Resort guest. Now, her deepest passion is helping others to embrace a more balanced, healthy lifestyle. Heather’s in-depth understanding and respect of the Resort’s program, combined with her own experience in training, group fitness, yoga and health have prepared her to empower others to focus on positive change, cultivate self-love, and celebrate their inner courage in an environment of non-judgment, acceptance and joy. Heather encourages others to recognize their power of choice and embrace an attitude of gratitude as they take action to choose health and live in a body they love.

Heather earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Theater from Skidmore College, later earning her Master’s degree from the New School Parsons in Documentary Film. A Texas native, she has spent much of her adult life in New York City and now happily resides in L.A. She is an AFAA Certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor, Intensati Certified, Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, certified Prenatal and Kids’ Yoga teacher, Schwinn Certified spin instructor and a four time marathon runner. Heather adores travel, personal growth, empowering others, eating delicious food and learning about new cultures. When Heather is not at the Resort, she can be found hiking, running, dancing, practicing yoga, teaching and playing with her three Chihuahuas. As a dedicated student of life, Heather considers every moment, every interaction and every breath a gift.
